Afghanistan Refugees

Need YOUR Help!

British troops left Afghanistan recently, bringing to an end the UK’s 20-year military involvement in Afghanistan.  We in the UK owe an immense debt to the Afghans who worked for the British military and UK government and to thank them, if eligible, they are now able to move to the UK permanently.

The UK evacuated more than 8,000 people, focusing on women and children. They left often with nothing but the clothes they stood up in. These people cannot settle or work while their claims are considered, they need our help.

A great number of these Afghan refugees worked tirelessly alongside British soldiers over many years, and it is right we now ensure they get whatever help we can provide, as well as continuing to support British citizens who may require assistance also. The people of Airmyn can help in the relocation by donating any men’s, ladies and children’s clothing, bedding and towels and small household items like crockery and cutlery.

Airmyn Parish Council, St David’s Church Airmyn and Airmyn Primary School are supporting this appeal, and your donations can be left at Airmyn Village Hall during the following times:
